Sceonography Class of 2015

The Scenography program trains costume and set designers with the skills to work not only in theatre, but also dance, opera, or the circus arts. In this bilingual program, students from across Canada collaborate on productions staged by both the English and French sections of NTS. As a result, they experience a wide range of theatrical practices and leave the School as professionals who offer invaluable artistic versatility.

The Caucasian Chalk Circle

The Caucasian Chalk Circle

Set in post-World War II Soviet Union, this play by Bertolt Brecht introduces two farming collectives engaged in a dispute over land reallocation. Once resolved, the conflict gives way to a parable about the interwoven destinies of Grusha, a peasant girl who flees civil war with an abandoned baby boy in her arms, of the boy’s aristocratic family, and of a cunning judge who will come to hold the child’s fate in his hands.

Featuring the NTS Graduate Class of 2015; Directed by Micheline Chevrier; Set Design by Lorena Trigos; Costume Design by Alexandra Lord; Lighting Design by Johnny Cann; Sound Design by Bruce Lambie; Video Design by Andrew Sciver; Music Composed by Andrew Whitman and Ariel Engle - Monument National at the National Theatre School, 2015.
